Am I a Candidate for Invisalign?

To find out if Invisalign is the right orthodontic treatment for you, please schedule a consultation with Dr. Chris Hill. During your consultation, he will take x-rays, examine your bite, and evaluate your overall dental health. You will also discuss your goals. With this information, Dr. Hill will determine if Invisalign is right for you. If not, he will recommend an alternative cosmetic or restorative dentistry treatment like traditional braces, Six Month Smiles, or porcelain veneers.

It’s important to note that the Invisalign technology keeps improving. You might have been told in the past that you couldn’t get Invisalign, but you might be a candidate now.

Benefits of Invisalign

There are a lot of different reasons why our patients prefer Invisalign treatment over the alternatives.

Comfort:  Comfort is one of the top reasons to choose Invisalign. The clear aligners are comfortable to wear and won’t scratch or cut your mouth like traditional braces.

Appearance:  Your orthodontic treatment is a complete secret between you and your dentist. Since the aligners are clear, nobody has to know you’re wearing them.

Food:  Eat anything you want during your treatment. Simply remove your aligners to enjoy your favorite foods and drinks, and then put them back in when you’re done.

Easy Hygiene:  Brush and floss your teeth the same way you would without your orthodontic treatment. Remove your aligners to brush and floss twice a day for optimal dental hygiene.

Fast Results:  Since your treatment moves your teeth into a new position every 1-2 weeks instead of every 6 weeks like traditional braces, Invisalign results are fast. Most patients only require 6 months to 2 years to achieve their new smile. Again, technology is constantly improving, and you can likely get your treatment much faster than you think.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign treatment uses a series of aligners to move your teeth into their optimal position. After your consultation, Dr. Hill will take impressions and photographs of your teeth to send to the Invisalign lab. These are used to create a series of custom-made aligners for you to wear throughout your treatment. You will wear your first set of aligners for two weeks before switching to the next set. Patients should wear their aligners for at least 22 hours per day to ensure their teeth move correctly throughout their treatment.

It’s important that you remove your aligners to eat and drink (besides water) and to brush and floss your teeth. Other than that, the aligners should be in your mouth at all times. after your first few aligners, we will assess your progress and may allow you to move on to the next aligner after just one week of wear. Over the course of your treatment, each set will move your teeth a small amount to achieve your final results. Your teeth will gently move into the correct position without the pain and hassles associated with traditional braces. At the end of your treatment, Dr. Hill will evaluate your smile to determine if any additional sets of aligners are needed to move your teeth. If not, he will create a retainer for you to wear at night and your treatment is complete.

If you want to expedite your treatment, we offer Invisalign in Half the Time which uses revolutionary techniques to expedite the process. Talk to Dr. Hill to find out if this option is right for you.
